Narrato: This Company Uses Generative AI To Make Life Easier For Content Creators

By Amit Chowdhry • Jun 1, 2023

Narrato is an AI content creation and collaboration platform that enables users to use generative AI to ideate, create, collaborate, and publish all in one place. To learn more about the company, Pulse 2.0 interviewed Narrato founder Sophia Solanki.

Sophia Solanki’s Background

Sophia Solanki

Sophia Solanki is an engineer and started her career on the other side of AI, working as a business and tech consultant for marketing and demand generation teams of large businesses to create digital marketing strategies and drive results through data-driven campaign optimization and strategic content development.

“It was in these roles that I realized the benefits of AI and ML to drive marketing success. I then co-founded Godot, a content marketing firm, as well as DrumUp, a machine-learning-based, personalized content recommendation and social publishing app. The latter was focused on helping social media marketers do more with less effort with AI content recommendations. Narrato was born out of my collective experience of past work and pain felt by me and our customers stemming from a broken and fragmented content and marketing workflow,” said Solanki.

Formation Of Narrato

Solanki pointed out that after seeing first-hand the impact that content and AI can deliver to fuel demand generation and growth, she also experienced the pain points that came along with having to manage content creation with a distributed software stack.

“I took these learnings and founded Narrato, an AI content creation, collaboration, and workflow management software for content marketing teams, agencies and publishers. Our goal at Narrato is to be the AI content workspace where companies can bring their entire marketing workflow and use AI seamlessly at the right moments. AI can only help so much if the processes before and after content creation are a time suck! Narrato is reducing pressure on marketers and is excited to support teams through their ideation, creation, and execution journeys,” said Solanki.

Challenges Faced Building The Company

What are some of the challenges Solanki faced in building the company and has the current macroeconomic climate had any effect on the company? “The current macroeconomic climate is a mixed bag and has created unique opportunities. Marketers have smaller budgets on hand and need to show more value delivered per dollar, which is where assistive AI for content creation and content workflow automation makes a lot of sense,” Solanki pointed out. “Narrato offers this powerful combo in an easy-to-use, intuitive interface, which is resonating well with our target customers. We save a lot of marketing money and allow marketing teams to do more with less, super efficiently. Having said that, a weak economy’s downside is always a more cautious and slow approach to new tech induction and buying – which is what we are also noticing this year. But once our customers are sold on the platform and start using it, they immediately see a ton of value delivered.”

Core Products

What are Narrato’s core products and features? Narrato is known as a comprehensive, integrated content creation and collaboration platform that helps content teams of all sizes create and ship great content at any scale.

“Narrato is an AI content workspace with a complete content creation, planning, and workflow automation platform, with AI content creation, ideation, and optimization tools embedded right in the workflow of marketers and creators. Additionally, Narrato also offers a content marketplace of talented creators to help augment the creation bandwidth of marketing/content teams,” explained Solanki.

Evolution Of Narrato’s Technology

How has Narrato’s technology evolved since launching? “We started building Narrato as a content creation, collaboration, and automation workspace with the aim of bringing people and processes together on the same platform, boosting efficiency multifold. As generative AI was maturing around the same time, we soon saw the huge impact it could bring to content creation, planning, and optimization, which is why we built an AI content assistant at the core of Narrato,” Solanki pointed out. “A lot of our focus is now on building more of our capabilities in this area and seamlessly integrating it into the marketing and content workflow to allow marketers and creators to access and use it just where and when they need it.”

Significant Milestones

What have been some of Narrato’s most significant milestones? Narrato raised $1 million in pre-seed funding in early April, which helped furthered a mission to transform marketing.

“Working alongside our lead investor, AirTree Ventures, we will be able to focus on product development and further our reach across the US. The funding round also included participation from community-powered global venture fund Everywhere Ventures and marquee angel investors including founders of OfBusiness, a $3 billion B2B commerce platform, and Shreesha Ramdas, a serial entrepreneur,” Solanki revealed. “We are excited to continue working alongside existing customers including Chargebee, Preply, ParkPlus, Rocketlane, Pearler, and more, to power up their demand generation and content-led growth engines with generative AI and content workflow automation.”

Customer Success Story

When I asked Solanki about some customer success stories, she noted that using Narrato’s AI content workspace Preply, a leading language-learning platform has already seen a jump of 40% in its content production and has greatly benefited from the streamlined experience Narrato has brought to their content workflow.

Content marketing is important for Preply as the content they publish is a major lead generation channel that helps them appear in relevant searches and bring interested prospects to their website. Narrato helped increase content production volume and also eliminated back-and-forth emails with edits, and increased content creation and editing speed by 2 times.

Plus Rocketlane, a customer-success SaaS platform, has seen a similar impact on their content creation process with generative AI reducing their content’s time to market significantly. Narrato’s AI content assistant helped Rocketlane speed up their content ideation and briefing by 3 times, increase content creation and editing by two times, and save over 100 resource hours.

Total Addressable Market

What total addressable market (TAM) size is Narrato pursuing? “We are building Narrato to transform content marketing and digital content creation and publishing. We are after a slice of the double-digit growth content marketing and digital publishing markets are experiencing, which are projected to be $700 billion by 2027,” Solanki shared.

Differentiation From The Competition

What differentiates Narrato from its competition?

“With the economic downturn, marketing teams are expected to create more content with fewer resources, and they see more ROI from content marketing versus paid ads. While other companies are addressing AI as a content creation tool, few are addressing the pains of managing and scaling content with a disjointed software stack. This is where Narrato saw an opportunity for generative AI to step alongside a solid workflow and automation platform to seamlessly boost the entire content marketing workflow from idea, creation, collaboration to publishing, and everything in the middle,” Solanki replied.

Future Company Goals

What are some of Narrato’s future company goals? “We want Narrato to be the default destination where the world comes to create, manage, and ship content. Similar to how software teams flock to Github for software development. With this vision in mind, we want to give content and marketing teams all the creative and collaboration tools powered by assistive AI to pack a punch for marketing performance and efficiency,” Solanki concluded.
