Narwhal Labs announced the launch of DeepBlue OS alongside a £20 million investment from UK investors, supporting its expansion into enterprise-grade agentic AI for regulated industries and government use cases.
The Bristol-based company has developed DeepBlue OS as an autonomous communications platform designed to replace traditional, human-led response systems with always-on AI agents. The platform manages the full lifecycle of communications across voice, SMS, email, and WhatsApp, enabling organizations to automate customer interactions, qualify leads, and execute follow-ups without human intervention.
Designed for complex and highly regulated environments, including financial services, insurance, housing, government, and retail, the platform incorporates a “Glass Box Architecture” that ensures all AI-driven actions are fully auditable and explainable. Delivered as a utility-style service, DeepBlue OS allows organizations to deploy quickly with no upfront setup costs and pay based on usage.
The system is built for scale, supporting multilingual and multi-jurisdictional deployments across more than 50 languages. It can handle both high-volume outbound communications and inbound interactions, making it suitable for organizations ranging from large enterprises to smaller professional services firms.
DeepBlue OS is powered by three core agents: an inbound AI receptionist that manages inquiries and bookings, a lead and case responder that delivers near-instant follow-up across channels, and an outbound agent focused on re-engaging contacts through calling and messaging campaigns.
The platform is designed to meet stringent compliance requirements, including ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications, as well as regulatory standards such as GDPR, TCPA, and OFCOM. Narwhal Labs said organizations can be operational within minutes on a fully certified infrastructure, with complete auditability from the first interaction.
With the new funding, Narwhal Labs aims to accelerate the adoption of DeepBlue OS across the enterprise and government sectors, positioning the platform as a foundational layer for AI-driven communications in regulated environments.
KEY QUOTES:
“Enterprise-grade AI should not be the exclusive preserve of organizations with eight-figure technology budgets and two-year implementation timelines. The level of backing we’ve seen reflects a growing recognition that this technology is no longer optional; it’s foundational to how organizations operate. We built DeepBlue OS as a utility; you switch it on, you pay for what you use, and it works. The security, compliance, and auditability that government and regulated enterprise demand are not optional extras. They are the foundation everything else is built on.”
Luke Sartain, Founder And CEO, Narwhal Labs
“What stood out about Narwhal Labs is that it’s providing an infrastructure that solves a clear commercial problem today, rather than creating experimental AI concepts. Every organization loses revenue through missed or delayed responses, and this is scalable AI to solve that. The fact it can be deployed quickly, without the usual complexity, makes it highly compelling.”
