Nasdaq has launched the Nasdaq Private Capital Indexes, a new suite of rules-based benchmarks designed to provide more consistent, objective measurement in private markets, where performance data and benchmarking have often been fragmented and less standardized. The company positioned the launch as the next step in expanding Nasdaq Private Capital Solutions, a broader platform that combines benchmarking, institutional-grade datasets, and analytics into workflow-ready tools for institutional investors and consultants.
The new index suite is built from Nasdaq eVestment’s limited-partner-reported dataset, drawing on more than 14,000 institutional private-market funds representing over $11.4 trillion in global assets under management. Nasdaq said the indexes are designed to help users benchmark performance, analyze exposures, and support allocation and reporting decisions across a range of private capital strategies.
Nasdaq said the indexes use a documented methodology that includes Modified Dietz quarterly performance measurement, NAV-weighted aggregation, and a standardized two-quarter restatement process intended to align with institutional governance expectations. The suite spans broad private capital, including private equity, buyout, venture capital, private debt, fund of funds, and real estate strategies.
Nasdaq said the indexes will be delivered through Nasdaq eVestment TopQ+, Nasdaq Global Index Watch, and its broader data licensing channels, with the goal of improving comparability, strengthening risk and return reporting, and easing integration into investment systems and data workflows.
