Navan has acquired BoomPop, expanding the business travel and expense company’s platform into AI-powered meetings and event management. BoomPop was founded in 2023 and uses artificial intelligence to help companies plan and manage events from beginning to end.
Its platform supports functions including venue and vendor sourcing, room blocks, contracts and payments.
BoomPop has supported events involving approximately 250,000 people at companies including Accenture, Amazon, Google, Salesforce and Shopify.
The company estimates that customers have reduced booking-related event costs by approximately 30% on average.
BoomPop’s technology supports events ranging from gatherings of approximately 15 people to conferences involving thousands of attendees.
The acquisition follows a partnership between Navan and BoomPop announced earlier in 2026.
Navan plans to fully integrate BoomPop’s team and technology into its platform, creating a broader offering spanning business travel, expenses, payments, meetings and events.
The company sees meetings and events as a significant expansion opportunity because much of corporate event spending remains outside centrally managed channels.
Integrating event management with travel could give corporate customers a single platform for arranging flights and hotels, managing event venues and vendors, processing payments and reconciling expenses.
The transaction is expected to have no material effect on Navan’s previously issued financial guidance.
Navan has previously expanded through acquisitions including Reed & Mackay, Comtravo, Tripeur and Smartrips.
KEY QUOTES:
“We believe that in-person connections drive business forward. But bringing teams together often requires juggling emails, spreadsheets, vendors, and disconnected tools. Our customers crave the same transparency and value in their meetings and events that we bring to the rest of their travel programs. Fully integrating BoomPop’s team and technology into Navan will help us scale our existing meetings and events business, accelerate our roadmap, and meet growing customer demand for more connected experiences across travel, expense, meetings, and events.”
Michael Sindicich, President of Navan
“We built BoomPop to make work functions less work, and our partnership with Navan showed us how much bigger that idea gets when travel and events live together. Our customers saw the value of our combined offering immediately and we’re just getting started. Joining forces means every company gets one partner for the whole thing, from a ten-person offsite to a 500-person global sales kickoff.”
