Navi Medical Technologies has raised A$6.8 million to commercialize its Neonav vascular access technology in the United States following FDA clearance and the beginning of clinical evaluations at two major U.S. children’s hospitals. Commercial sales are expected to begin during 2026.
The financing was led by healthcare venture capital firm KP Rx, which invested A$4 million. Existing investor Innovation Victoria and Pacific Channel also participated. Navi plans to use the capital to expand manufacturing, establish a U.S. commercial team and introduce Neonav at leading pediatric hospitals.
Neonav is designed to help clinicians position and monitor central venous access devices used to deliver fluids, nutrition and medication to neonatal and pediatric patients. Accurate placement is particularly important because a catheter positioned incorrectly or displaced after insertion can damage the heart or surrounding tissue and may produce severe complications.
Adult clinicians commonly use electrocardiogram-guided catheter placement, but pediatric teams continue to rely heavily on X-ray confirmation because existing systems were not designed around the anatomy and clinical requirements of very small patients. Neonav uses real-time intravascular ECG signals to support catheter tip placement and ongoing surveillance for migration.
The ability to reassess catheter location after insertion distinguishes the system from conventional tip-location technologies. Ongoing monitoring may allow clinicians to identify movement without relying exclusively on repeated imaging, potentially improving safety while reducing the use of additional X-rays.
Neonav received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2025. An expanded indication granted in 2026 added applications involving umbilical venous catheters, giving the platform cleared uses across central venous access devices and procedures for neonatal and pediatric patients.
