Navi Raises $100 Million From Prosus In First Institutional Funding Round As Lending AUM Tops ₹130 Billion

Navi Limited has secured a proposed $100 million investment from Prosus, marking the Indian digital financial services company’s first institutional capital raise.

The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and applicable regulatory approvals, including clearance from the Competition Commission of India.

The investment represents a significant milestone for Navi as it continues building a technology-driven financial services platform spanning payments, lending, insurance and investments.

Prosus said the transaction aligns with its long-standing strategy of backing major technology platforms in India and reflects its confidence in Navi’s business model, execution capabilities and long-term growth potential.

Navi was founded by Sachin Bansal and has developed an integrated financial services offering built around a digital-first customer experience.

The platform provides access to loans, insurance, mutual funds and Unified Payments Interface services, either directly or through partners.

The company has reported strong operating momentum across several of those businesses.

During fiscal 2026, Navi UPI maintained its position as India’s fourth-largest UPI application while continuing to rank among the country’s faster-growing payments platforms.

Navi Finserv also continued expanding its lending operations, with assets under management surpassing ₹130 billion.

The company’s improving unit economics and increasing operating leverage contributed to Navi reaching consolidated profitability during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026.

For Prosus, the investment provides exposure to a financial technology company with multiple business lines and a large consumer base.

Prosus highlighted Navi’s technology-first model, customer engagement and ability to execute despite a challenging macroeconomic environment as important factors behind the proposed investment.

The transaction also reconnects Bansal with an investor group he has known for more than a decade through Naspers and Prosus.

Navi sees Prosus as more than a source of capital, citing the investor’s experience scaling global technology companies and its long-term approach to company building.

The investment could provide Navi with additional financial resources as it expands its product portfolio, grows its lending business and strengthens its position in India’s increasingly competitive digital payments ecosystem.

Navi is headquartered in Bengaluru and has built its strategy around simplifying access to financial products through an integrated digital experience.

The company serves users across multiple stages of their financial lives, combining internally developed technology with consumer data and product design.

Prosus has built a significant technology investment presence in India as part of its broader global portfolio spanning ecommerce, payments, food delivery, classifieds, travel, mobility and other digital services.

Through Prosus Ventures, the company also invests across AI, ecommerce infrastructure, digital workforces and frontier technology categories.

Completion of the Navi financing remains dependent on obtaining the required regulatory approvals.
