NavVis Raises $85 Million Series D To Build Spatial Data Foundation For Physical AI

NavVis has raised $85 million in Series D funding to expand its spatial data platform and accelerate the development of AI products for industrial facilities, construction sites and other physical environments. The round was led by U.S. private equity firm The Jordan Company, with participation from existing investors Yttrium and its consortium of industrial family offices, KOZO KEIKAKU ENGINEERING and Cipio Partners.

The Munich-based company plans to use the financing to scale its spatial data infrastructure and advance the AI layer that turns captured information about buildings, factories and other assets into more useful and actionable intelligence.

NavVis provides a spatial data platform for what it describes as the built world. Its technology combines mobile reality-capture systems with NavVis IVION, an enterprise cloud platform that converts spatial information into shared and continuously updated digital twins.

The company said its survey-grade reality-capture technology can collect information approximately 10 times faster than traditional surveying methods. It also estimates that its platform can make accurate spatial data available at roughly 10% of the previous cost.

NavVis customers use the resulting spatial twins as reliable digital records of factories, construction projects, refineries, data centers and other complex physical environments.

More than one billion square meters of industrial plants, buildings and construction sites were scanned, processed and distributed through the NavVis platform during 2025 alone.

The company said the spatial data can help customers reduce rework, limit downtime and establish the foundation for automation, analytics and AI-powered decision-making.

More than 150,000 people working across engineering, maintenance and construction use NavVis systems and data.

Applications include reducing automotive assembly-line downtime, accelerating data center construction, shortening refinery maintenance shutdowns and planning robotics deployments. Customers also use NavVis data to train industrial foundation models.

NavVis serves more than 1,500 customers across over 50 countries. Customers include BMW, Volkswagen, Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, ExxonMobil, BASF, Henkel, Bosch, KION and Siemens.

The company also maintains technology partnerships with SAP, NVIDIA and Autodesk.

NavVis plans to invest the new capital in its next generation of reality-capture technology and the infrastructure needed to increase spatial data processing volumes by another order of magnitude.

The company will also develop AI capabilities that make spatial data more semantic, accessible and actionable for human operators, autonomous agents and robots.

NavVis believes trusted and current spatial information will become an important infrastructure layer for physical AI, particularly as automated systems are deployed across manufacturing, construction and industrial operations.

The company will also expand its commercial presence, with a particular focus on the United States, which NavVis described as its fastest-growing market in recent years.

NavVis said its platform now contains more than two billion square meters of spatial data involving complex industrial facilities, construction sites and buildings.

The Series D is intended to help the company move beyond reality capture and digital twins toward an open ecosystem in which AI systems can understand and interact with physical environments.

KEY QUOTES:

“Our mission is to keep the physical and digital reality synchronized for the world’s most valuable assets. Our customers are the most demanding operators on earth, and they are trusting us with billions of square meters of spatial data of their most mission-critical infrastructure.”

“We have raised this round to do even more: more scalability, more intelligence and ultimately more productivity for the underlying assets. At the same time, we will broaden our market presence with a strong focus on the U.S. market, where we have been scaling the fastest in recent years.”

Felix Reinshagen, Ph.D., Co-Founder and CEO of NavVis

“NavVis captures any factory, plant or building at survey-grade standards in days and holds it as the system of record for industrial reality data: one governed, always-current record that every team, every tool and every AI system can build on.”

“This round takes us further: next-generation capture, a deeper intelligence layer and an open platform for the physical AI ecosystem.”

Georg Schroth, Ph.D., Co-Founder and CTO of NavVis

“NavVis has built category-defining technology, a deeply loyal customer base and a team with the vision to redefine how the physical world is digitized.”
