Neo4j Acquires GraphAware To Launch Open-Standards Intelligence Analysis Alternative To Palantir Gotham

Neo4j, the world’s leading graph intelligence platform, has announced an agreement to acquire GraphAware, an intelligence analysis software company serving government agencies. The acquisition will launch a new generation of AI-powered, graph technology solutions based on open standards as a proven and trusted alternative to Palantir Gotham, and marks a key milestone in Neo4j’s $100 million AI investment roadmap. Financial terms were not disclosed.

GraphAware’s flagship product, GraphAware Hume, is a graph-powered intelligence analysis platform built natively on Neo4j’s platform for mission-critical environments, designed for the operational needs of law enforcement, defense organizations, tax authorities, and national security agencies. The platform brings fragmented data and context together into a connected intelligence picture, enabling analysts to investigate relationships, build contextual understanding, and collaborate across teams. Current customers include the Western Australia Police Force, which uses Neo4j and GraphAware Hume to reduce data analysis turnaround time from hours to seconds; the U.S. Department of Defense, which deploys it on a DoD IL5 network inside a fully accredited DevSecOps platform hosted on U.S. Air Force Cloud One; a European national cyber defense agency; and others including the European Commission, the IRS, and U.S. DoD Platform One.

The acquisition addresses a core tension in the intelligence analysis software market: government agencies increasingly require the ability to own, manage, and control their data within national borders or across secure AI platforms, while proprietary black-box architectures limit sovereignty and exit paths. Neo4j said the combination delivers a modular, open-standards alternative that puts customers in control of their deployment, data, and exit path. The deal builds on more than a decade of partnership between the two companies and comes as Neo4j reports a fourfold increase in customers solving AI-ready data use cases, with a significant portion already in production.
