Netmore Group announced it has acquired Paris-based Actility, bringing together two major players in low-power wide area networking in a deal aimed at consolidating the global LoRaWAN ecosystem and reducing longstanding market fragmentation. Netmore described the combination as a step toward making LoRaWAN the default connectivity layer for massive IoT deployments, pairing Actility’s platform software and mediation capabilities with Netmore’s carrier-grade network operations and go-to-market reach.

The companies said the combined footprint now exceeds 14 million contracted IoT devices across Netmore and Actility ThingPark-powered networks. Netmore also said the acquisition expands its geographic and partner reach, adding deployments across more than 100 countries and partnerships with more than 50 LoRaWAN network operators, alongside Actility’s customer base that includes tier 1 operators and large utility and industrial organizations.

Netmore positioned the deal as strategically additive in its core verticals, such as utilities, buildings, and smart cities, while broadening its addressable market across enterprise, industrial, asset tracking, and operator-led deployments. The acquisition also includes Actility’s subsidiary, Abeeway, which focuses on ultra-low-power, multi-technology geolocation and tracking products and services.

A key element of the announcement was the preservation of continuity for existing operator ecosystems built on Actility’s ThingPark platform. Orange Business highlighted its decade-long relationship with Actility and said the transaction supports the continued operation of Orange’s LoRaWAN-based enterprise and smart territory offerings, framing the consolidation as beneficial for the broader European IoT market.

Netmore said the combined portfolio strengthens deployment flexibility and performance, enabling faster rollouts for high-density metering and low-cost sensing projects while lowering the total cost of ownership and improving reliability in challenging environments. Netmore highlighted a set of capabilities it gains or expands through Actility and ThingPark, including on-premises high availability LPWAN infrastructure for regulated or security-sensitive environments, native DLMS over LoRaWAN for smart metering efficiency, autonomous gateway options with embedded network server and direct building system connectivity, and LoRaWAN Relay features intended to improve coverage and help meet stringent service levels for use cases such as water metering. The company also pointed to ThingPark Exchange as a roaming hub to enable data exchange and coverage expansion between private and public networks, and said firmware update and broadcast tooling can help customers align with emerging requirements such as the EU Cybersecurity Resilience Act.

Beyond technology, Netmore emphasized ecosystem scale, noting that the transaction unites partner networks by combining Netmore’s infrastructure and solution partners with Actility’s online marketplace and its broader channel and solution provider community. Netmore described this as a way to streamline end-to-end IoT deployments across devices, gateways, connectivity, and applications.

Netmore said it operates in 18 countries and is backed by Nordic infrastructure investor Polar Structure. Actility is a founding member of the LoRa Alliance and says its ThingPark platform supports multi-radio connectivity, including LoRaWAN, NB-IoT, and LTE-M, while Abeeway provides ultra-low-power trackers and indoor and outdoor geolocation services.
