Neuberger Specialty Finance has partnered with a group of experienced aerospace finance executives to launch New Bridge AeroFinance, a new financing platform that initially plans to build a portfolio exceeding $2 billion across aviation and the broader aerospace industry.
New Bridge Aero will enable funds managed by Neuberger Specialty Finance to originate and acquire loans and other debt instruments across the aerospace sector.
The platform will focus on asset-based investments designed to provide downside protection and durable cash flows, while offering flexible financing across different parts of the capital structure.
New Bridge Aero will be led by Richard Moody, with Debbie Frew and William Glaister serving as co-founders and principals.
Moody previously served as Global Head of Aviation Finance at Hamburg Commercial Bank and earlier led Transportation Finance globally at Deutsche Bank.
Frew also held senior aviation finance positions at Hamburg Commercial Bank and Deutsche Bank, while Glaister previously served as Global Head of Asset Finance at Clifford Chance.
The team plans to pursue transactions across the broader aviation and aerospace ecosystem rather than limiting the strategy to aircraft financing.
Neuberger Specialty Finance is the asset-based finance arm of Neuberger, the independent and employee-owned investment manager with $613 billion in assets under management as of June 30, 2026.
Since its strategy was established in 2018, Neuberger Specialty Finance has grown to more than $5 billion under management across over 50 portfolio companies and multiple investment vehicles.
The group has cumulatively invested more than $16 billion through approximately 80 global origination partners, ranging from commercial banks to fintech companies and covering thousands of underlying loans.
New Bridge Aero extends that asset-based finance strategy into a specialized market where large capital requirements, complex assets and changing industry conditions can create opportunities for private lenders.
Neuberger believes specialized underwriting and the ability to execute quickly are increasingly valuable in aviation and transportation finance.
The launch also gives the New Bridge team access to Neuberger’s capital base, sourcing network and global institutional investment platform.
Neuberger Private Markets manages more than $165 billion of investor commitments across primary investments, co-investments, secondaries, private credit and specialty strategies.
