Neuraspace Raises €15.6 Million To Scale AI-Powered Space Traffic And Defence Monitoring

Neuraspace has secured €15.6 million in new financing to expand its AI-powered Space Domain Awareness and Space Traffic Management platform as satellite operators and governments face growing risks from congestion, cyber threats, interference, and counterspace activity.

The financing combines strategic private investment from Lince Capital, Explorer Investments, and Armilar Venture Partners with funding awarded through Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Neuraspace plans to use the capital to expand its artificial intelligence platform, accelerate autonomous mission operations, increase its proprietary optical sensing infrastructure, and further develop NeuraspaceDEF, its dual-use platform serving government and defense customers.

Founded in 2020, Neuraspace provides technology designed to help satellite operators understand what is happening around their spacecraft, assess potential risks, and make faster operational decisions.

The company has recorded revenue growth of more than 350% over the past year and currently monitors more than 600 satellites operated by commercial and institutional customers.

Customers include Spire Global, GEOSAT, NanoAvionics, Sidus Space, U-Space, and the European Space Agency.

Neuraspace’s technology helps those organizations prevent collisions, strengthen operational resilience, determine spacecraft orbits, plan maneuvers, and move toward increasingly autonomous satellite operations.

The company’s defence business is also expanding.

Neuraspace has contracts with the Portuguese Air Force and NATO and has more recently been selected as a prime contractor by a European Ministry of Defence.

The company sees that dual-use position as increasingly important as the distinction between satellite safety and national security becomes less clear.

Growing numbers of satellites are making Earth’s orbital environment more congested, increasing the risk of accidental collisions and creating a need for more automated traffic management.

At the same time, satellite operators must contend with intentional threats including cyberattacks, radio-frequency interference, GNSS spoofing and jamming, and other counterspace activities.

Neuraspace’s platform is designed to address both categories of risk within a common operational environment.

The technology combines information from commercial and sovereign sensors with high-precision orbit determination, AI-based risk and threat assessment, sensor fusion, and autonomous decision support.

That allows commercial operators, government agencies, and defence organizations to identify potential problems and determine appropriate responses more quickly.

One of Neuraspace’s strategic priorities is reducing European reliance on external space surveillance infrastructure.

The company is building proprietary sensing capabilities that can be combined with third-party information, giving customers access to a more sovereign data and intelligence layer for monitoring orbital activity.

Neuraspace believes pairing that sensing infrastructure with AI-enabled data fusion and automation can strengthen Europe’s ability to independently detect and respond to activity in space.

The approach is particularly relevant for defence and government missions, where reliance on outside data sources can introduce strategic, security, and operational constraints.

The new financing will allow Neuraspace to expand those sovereign capabilities while continuing to serve commercial satellite operators that need increasingly automated collision avoidance and mission management tools.

The company is headquartered in Portugal and also maintains offices in Luxembourg and Germany.

Its broader platform combines astrodynamics, explainable artificial intelligence, multi-source sensor fusion, and operational automation to provide threat and risk alerts, avoidance recommendations, orbit determination, maneuver planning, and mission support.

As the number of satellites and strategic assets in orbit continues to increase, Neuraspace is positioning itself as infrastructure for both routine space traffic management and defence-grade situational awareness.

KEY QUOTES:

“Neuraspace has established itself as one of Europe’s most promising space technology companies, combining outstanding technical execution with growing commercial traction in a market of increasing strategic importance. We believe Neuraspace is well positioned to become one of Europe’s leading providers of AI-enabled Space Domain Awareness and Space Traffic Management solutions.”

Vasco Pereira Coutinho, CEO of Lince Capital

“When Neuraspace was founded, our mission was to make space safer. That mission has evolved with the operational reality. Today, protecting satellites means addressing both accidental risks and intentional threats. Safety and security are no longer separate challenges, they are two sides of the same operational problem.”

“This investment marks the beginning of Neuraspace’s next phase of growth. We are expanding Europe’s sovereign capabilities in Space Domain Awareness while delivering the AI-enabled operational services that the next generation of commercial, institutional and defence missions will require.”

Chiara Manfletti, CEO of Neuraspace
