New Charter Technologies, a portfolio company of Palo Alto-based private equity firm Oval Partners, has added Michigan-based technology solutions provider NetSource One to its platform as it expands capabilities for regulated and security-conscious customers.
Founded in 1999, NetSource One provides IT services and support to more than 700 clients across sectors including healthcare, financial services, government, education, legal, manufacturing, and distribution. More than 75 NetSource One employees are joining New Charter as part of the combination.
New Charter said the addition strengthens its expertise in regulated industries and advances a security-first services strategy. NetSource One brings experience operating in compliance-driven environments, including SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA requirements, as well as Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) authorization that enables its engineers to support law enforcement and criminal justice systems.
NetSource One President Andy Skrzypczak said the decision centered on maintaining the company’s identity, team continuity, and customer relationships while gaining access to broader platform resources. NetSource One Vice President Ed French said the company’s compliance posture is embedded in operations and training, and that the partnership is designed to preserve certifications and controls while benefiting from shared security strategy, peer collaboration, and expanded services across the New Charter platform.
KEY QUOTES:
“We looked at a lot of options, and most of them came with tradeoffs we weren’t willing to make. We didn’t want to change who we are, disrupt our team, or put client relationships at risk. New Charter was different. It gave us the ability to stay close to our people and our customers, while gaining access to resources and expertise that make us stronger.”
Andy Skrzypczak, President, NetSource One
“Our compliance posture isn’t something you can bolt on after the fact. It’s embedded in how we operate, how our teams are trained, and how we serve our clients. New Charter understood that from day one. We’re able to maintain our certifications and controls, while also benefiting from shared security strategy, peer collaboration, and advanced services across the platform.” “We asked a lot of hard questions. What stood out was the honesty and openness. There was no pressure to gloss over challenges. That kind of transparency told us this was a place where we could belong and contribute.”
