By Amit Chowdhry ● Mar 29, 2026

New York Angels has appointed Peter Bodenheimer as its new Executive Director, bringing in a seasoned startup operator and investor with more than two decades of experience across product leadership, venture capital, and entrepreneurship.

Bodenheimer most recently served as a U.S. Venture Partner at PeakBridge, a European foodtech venture capital firm. His career also includes serving as a partner at SOSV, where he led the Food-X Accelerator and invested in more than 60 early-stage companies. Earlier in his career, he co-founded Flatstack, a global software development studio, and BarNotes, a social discovery platform focused on cocktail enthusiasts.

As an angel investor, Bodenheimer has backed companies such as The 86 Co. and InKind. He has also contributed to building startup ecosystems nationwide, including launching Launch Pad Ignition in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina.

In his new role, Bodenheimer will oversee internal operations and collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to guide the organization’s strategic direction. His mandate includes expanding the New York Angels ecosystem, strengthening relationships among founders, investors, and institutional partners, and enhancing programming to support early-stage companies.

He succeeds Liz Lindsey, who is retiring after 12 years with the organization. During her tenure, Lindsey oversaw approximately 1,600 founder pitches and played a key role in maintaining the group’s strong investment track record.

Founded as one of the most established angel investment groups in the U.S., New York Angels has invested more than $180 million across over 350 startups, resulting in 67 exits. The organization continues to focus on providing early-stage companies with capital, mentorship, and access to a broad network of industry connections.

“I’m excited to join New York Angels, an organization that has built its reputation over decades by giving founders a meaningful edge. What drew me here is the membership itself: deeply experienced founders, operators, and investors with networks that span industries and geographies. As the capital landscape evolves, NYA is positioned to lead. My focus is to expand our reach, equip our members to play an even more active role in backing great companies, and make NYA the first call for the country’s best founders.”
