New York Life Investment Management has appointed Rupal Shah as Head Of Insurance Solutions, expanding its capabilities for insurance companies across public and private markets.
In the newly created role, Shah will lead NYLIM’s strategy to deliver insurance-specific portfolio expertise, balance-sheet perspectives, and investment capabilities to insurers worldwide. She will report to Matthew Mosca, Head Of NYLIM’s Institutional Client Group.
NYLIM manages approximately $837.6 billion in assets and is building its Insurance Solutions strategy around New York Life Insurance Company’s more than 180 years of experience investing against long-term insurance liabilities. The organization manages more than $415 billion in insurance assets and ranks as the eighth-largest insurance-owned asset manager based on self-reported peer data.
The platform combines New York Life’s perspective as a major insurance investor with investment origination, underwriting, and specialized capabilities across public and private markets. NYLIM is positioning the offering to help insurers pursue risk-adjusted income, improve capital efficiency, manage asset-liability alignment, and construct more resilient portfolios.
Shah joins NYLIM from Silver Point Capital, where she served as Managing Director And Global Head Of Insurance Solutions and led the firm’s global insurance solutions platform.
Previously, she held senior leadership positions at PGIM, including Head Of Global Client Advisory And Japan Insurance Solutions and Head Of Insurance Client Advisory, where she had responsibility for the firm’s third-party insurance business. Earlier in her career, Shah held positions at Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase.
The appointment comes as NYLIM identifies Insurance Solutions as a strategic growth priority and looks to deepen its relationships with insurance clients seeking investment capabilities tailored to regulatory, liquidity, capital, and liability-management requirements.
