NewBold Technologies has completed its acquisition of Spencer Technologies, creating a larger North American technology managed services platform serving retail, restaurant, convenience store and warehousing customers. NewBold is a portfolio company of Fort Point Capital.
The combination expands NewBold’s geographic coverage and technical capabilities across point-of-sale systems, RFID, audiovisual technology, networking and payment infrastructure.
Spencer brings more than five decades of experience managing technology lifecycles for multi-site retail and hospitality companies.
The business supports more than 1,500 new store openings annually, handles more than 500 field jobs per day and reports a 97% on-time delivery rate across North American deployments.
NewBold provides deployment, integration, repair and maintenance services for point-of-sale and automated identification equipment.
It also operates a PCI-compliant key injection facility for payment devices.
Spencer CEO David Strickler will remain involved with the combined company in a consulting capacity.
Fort Point said the combination creates a platform capable of supporting customers across technology procurement, deployment, ongoing support, payment device management and lifecycle planning.
