Newell Brands announced plans to invest €40 million in its French manufacturing and operations network over the next three years, supporting automation, digitization, sustainability initiatives, and workforce development across the company’s operations in France.
The announcement was made at the Choose France Summit 2026, the annual international business event hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and the French government at the Palace of Versailles.
The planned investment will be directed toward four strategic priorities:
- 1.Advanced manufacturing automation and the addition of new production line capabilities.
- 2.A comprehensive digitization program utilizing artificial intelligence and modern manufacturing systems to enhance safety, quality, and planning capabilities.
- 3.Sustainability initiatives and infrastructure modernization projects.
- 4.Workforce development programs focused on upskilling employees, strengthening engineering expertise, and supporting leadership succession planning.
France remains a significant market for Newell Brands, ranking among the company’s top ten international markets. The company noted that its international business accounts for 39% of total sales. Newell has maintained operations in France for more than a century, manufacturing products from brands such as Parker, Waterman, Spontex, and Campingaz. The company currently operates facilities across four major French regions and employs nearly 1,000 people in the country.
According to Newell Brands, the investment aligns with its broader strategy of improving competitiveness and creating long-term value by focusing resources on key growth opportunities. The company said automation, digitization, and AI initiatives are helping streamline operations, accelerate decision-making, and support long-term industrial resilience.
