NexTech Solutions Acquires Halcyon Days Consulting To Expand Combat-Tested Tactical Networks

NexTech Solutions has acquired Halcyon Days Consulting, adding more than 90 engineers, operators, and mission specialists to its defense technology platform. The acquisition expands NTS’s tactical networking capabilities for U.S. military, allied, and government customers operating in contested and communications-challenged environments.

Halcyon Days Consulting, based in Stevensville, Maryland, engineers tactical mission networks and operational software. NTS said HDC’s systems are actively deployed and continuously refined by U.S., allied, and partner forces in areas including Eastern Europe and the Pacific. The company has experience managing wide-scale, combat-proven tactical mission networks supporting approximately 20,000 users and more than 15,000 managed devices across two active theaters.

HDC builds around the Team Awareness Kit framework and has developed secure, natively TAK-integrated capabilities across its architecture. NTS plans to combine that experience with products including MANTLE, its provisioning software, and VidTerra COMPASS, its full-motion-video transport product. Management said the combination can reduce deployment timelines and give customers a more integrated tactical data environment from network provisioning through video and mission applications.

The acquisition also deepens NTS’s bench in tactical networking, edge communications, software, cybersecurity, systems integration, and rapid capability delivery. NTS serves Department of War, Department of State, and allied customers and maintains locations in Huntsville, Tampa, and Northern Virginia. The company has received strategic backing from Clairvest since 2023.

HDC is a veteran-owned defense technology company whose experience spans tactical mission networks, operational software development, cybersecurity and information assurance, training, advisory services, and foreign-partner enablement. NTS intends to preserve that field-driven expertise while integrating the team into its broader defense technology portfolio.
