Nextpower has completed its acquisition of complementary assets from Zigor Corporation’s power conversion business and its U.S. subsidiary, Apex Power. The deal expands Nextpower’s clean energy technology platform with proprietary inverter products, engineering talent and supply chain capabilities in the U.S. and Spain. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquired products include UL-certified central inverters for utility-scale solar and energy storage projects in the U.S., along with IEC-certified products for Europe and other international markets.
Nextpower said the acquired engineering team brings hundreds of years of combined experience in power conversion technology.
Its modular central inverter architecture is designed to allow components to be replaced in the field using standard equipment and tools. This can reduce the need for specialized repairs and help project owners restore systems more quickly after equipment failures.
The company’s power conversion portfolio includes modular configurations with capacity of up to 5.2 megavolt-amperes.
The systems communicate through a hard-wired, site-level optical fiber network designed to improve cybersecurity at utility-scale solar and storage facilities.
Nextpower has made its central inverters commercially available in the U.S. following UL certification.
The company is accelerating its U.S. manufacturing expansion across several locations. Deliveries are expected to increase in early 2027, and Nextpower is targeting more than 10 gigawatts of production capacity within 12 months.
Nextpower develops integrated technology for utility-scale solar, energy storage and other power infrastructure applications.
