Nexxa.ai: $4.4 Million Pre-Seed Raised For Bringing Specialized AI To Heavy Industries

By Amit Chowdhry • Jul 22, 2025

Nexxa.ai, an AI-native company focused on transforming the way industrial engineers operate in digital environments, announced a $4.4 million pre-seed funding round. The funding round was driven by a16z speedrun with participation from institutional investors Augment Ventures, Propeller Ventures, Plug and Play, Beat Ventures, SBI, Untapped Ventures, and Cross Atlantic Angels, as well as angel investors Rick Berry and Pat McCarthy, among others. The company was also selected for speedrun Badge 5, a16z’s elite accelerator for AI startups.

Despite the rise of enterprise software and AI, over 4 million industrial engineers still rely on fragmented, in-house systems and manual processes. Nexxa deploys AI agents that integrate with existing software like engineering tools or estimating systems, understanding the industrial engineering context and acting autonomously or collaboratively, speeding up work without replacing systems.

Momentum: Founded in May 2024, Nexxa has achieved threefold growth in booked annual contract value in 2025. Early adopters include Fortune 100 and midmarket firms, with AI impacting operational workflows.

How the funding will be used: The funds will be utilized to expand engineering resources and diversify into additional industries. Nexxa was selected for a16z’s speedrun Badge 5, gaining access to AI ecosystem, infrastructure, and go-to-market support.
