NFP, an Aon company, announced that it has acquired Sherman Insurance Agency, Inc., a full-service brokerage specializing in trucking, commercial, personal, and benefits insurance solutions. The deal strengthens NFP Corp.’s presence in the Upper Midwest and enhances its transportation and logistics expertise.
Founded in 1931 and based in South St. Paul, Minnesota, Sherman Insurance Agency has built a longstanding reputation serving small and mid-market businesses in the trucking and transportation industries. The firm has expanded its offerings over time to include broader risk management solutions for commercial clients as well as personal insurance services.
As part of the acquisition, Sherman leaders John Glieden, Kyle King, and Peter Lobe will join NFP as senior vice presidents, while Jennifer Carter will join as vice president. The team will report to Amanda Ruback, managing director of property and casualty for NFP’s Central region.
NFP said the acquisition adds deep specialization in trucking insurance and strengthens its ability to deliver integrated risk management solutions to transportation and logistics clients nationwide. The company, backed by Aon plc, provides a range of services including property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, life insurance, wealth management, and retirement advisory across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Ireland.
