National Investment and Infrastructure Fund has appointed Gauravjit Singh as Managing Partner and Global Head of Capital Formation, strengthening its senior leadership team with an investment professional who brings nearly two decades of global fundraising and institutional capital experience.
Singh’s background spans capital raising for global, India-focused and Pan-Asian alternative investment strategies, giving him experience working with a broad range of institutional investors across multiple markets and investment structures.
His career includes senior roles across PAG, KKR and True North, where he developed experience building relationships with institutional investors, supporting fundraising strategies and helping investment platforms expand their sources of long-term capital.
Most recently, Singh served as Head of Investor Relations and Fundraising for PAG’s private equity division in Singapore.
In that position, he was responsible for investor relations and fundraising activities for the private equity business and also served on PAG’s Investment and Exit Committees, giving him exposure not only to capital formation but also to investment decision-making and portfolio realization processes.
His appointment comes as NIIF continues to expand relationships with institutional investors in India and internationally.
At NIIF, Singh will lead capital formation across the organization’s investment strategies, with responsibility for strengthening existing investor relationships, broadening the firm’s global and domestic institutional investor base and helping mobilize additional capital for future investment activity.
The role places Singh at the center of NIIF’s efforts to connect its investment strategies with sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, insurance companies and other large institutional capital providers seeking exposure to India.
His responsibilities will also include helping coordinate fundraising activity across NIIF’s different strategies and building long-term partnerships with investors as the organization continues to scale.
The appointment follows a period of substantial fundraising momentum for NIIF.
Over the past 24 months, the sovereign-anchored alternative asset manager has mobilized approximately $3 billion in new equity capital commitments across its strategies.
That level of capital formation highlights the increasing role institutional investors are playing in supporting investment opportunities tied to India’s long-term economic and infrastructure development.
Singh’s experience raising capital across both India-focused and broader Asian strategies is expected to support NIIF as it continues expanding relationships with international investors while also deepening engagement with domestic institutions.
The appointment also reflects the growing importance of dedicated capital formation leadership within alternative asset managers, particularly as firms compete for long-duration institutional capital across private equity, infrastructure and other private-market strategies.
For NIIF, adding a senior executive with experience across PAG, KKR and True North provides additional institutional fundraising expertise at a time when the organization is seeking to build on the approximately $3 billion of new commitments secured over the last two years.
Singh will now oversee those efforts as NIIF works to broaden its investor network and support the next phase of capital deployment across its investment platform.
