Nike announced that John Rogers Jr. will retire from the company’s Board of Directors. Rogers has served as a Nike director since 2018. He has decided not to stand for re-election at the company’s September 2026 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
His retirement from the board will become effective after the annual meeting. Following his retirement, Rogers will serve as a strategic advisor to Nike.
In his advisory role, Rogers will focus on a range of topics, including the future of sport and its impact on social communities.
Rogers is the founder of Ariel Investments and has been recognized for his leadership in business, finance, civic engagement, economic development, and community-focused initiatives.
Nike said Rogers provided support and guidance during his eight years on the board and will continue advising the company as it works to use sport to drive positive impact in communities around the world.
Nike is headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, and designs, markets, and distributes athletic footwear, apparel, equipment, and accessories. Converse is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nike.
