Valkyrie Analytics, a U.S.-based analytics company focused on real-time monitoring and optimization of anaerobic digesters, has re-launched as Nirova following a $3 million seed-stage investment from a strategic investor. The funding supports an expanded service offering, enhanced technology platform, and organizational growth as the company scales its capabilities.
Nirova delivers real-time monitoring and analysis solutions for anaerobic digesters that process liquid organic waste from sources including livestock agriculture, food waste, and municipal or industrial wastewater. Its proprietary platform enables plant operators and investors to make proactive operational adjustments to improve system performance and financial returns.
The company’s technology converts near-infrared spectral data into actionable process metrics, allowing operators to optimize feedstock management, detect early signs of biological instability, and maximize the conversion of organic waste into biogas. These capabilities are designed to improve operational efficiency while reducing variability and risk in digester performance.
As part of its relaunch, Nirova has also expanded its leadership team, bringing in executives with global operational experience. The team includes Sanford (Sandy) Selman as Chief Executive Officer, Will Charlton as Chief Technology Officer, Christopher Maloney as Chief Marketing Officer, David Christensen as Chief Financial Officer, and Alex Chassels as Board Advisor for Operations.
The company plans to showcase its platform at upcoming industry events, including the Residuals, Biosolids and Treatment Technology conference in Kansas City and Biogas Americas in Detroit, where it will demonstrate how its technology enhances the performance of existing infrastructure.
Nirova’s platform is positioned to help operators improve stability, increase energy production, and drive stronger returns on investment in anaerobic digestion systems.
KEY QUOTE:
“Anaerobic digesters are complicated systems that are difficult to operate by virtue of the fact that many of the most important operational metrics can only be determined in retrospect. Even with constant attention, guesswork is still part of the operator’s decision framework. Our platform is a total game changer and will help owners and investors maximize their return on investment in this critical infrastructure.”
Sanford (Sandy) Selman, Chief Executive Officer, Nirova LLC
