Nitride Global announced it has closed an investment from Wichita-based venture capital firms Accelerate Venture Partners and eGrowth Ventures as part of a convertible note financing round, with the company indicating the closing took place in the fourth quarter of 2025. The company, which describes itself as a global leader in aluminum nitride material technologies, positioned the financing as a step toward expanding capacity and accelerating the commercialization of its advanced materials portfolio.
Nitride Global said the proceeds will support a mix of scale-up and productization priorities, including expanding production capability and advancing development of its aluminum nitride and aluminum oxynitride technologies. The company framed those materials as enabling components for next-generation semiconductor and microelectronics systems, highlighting applications in power electronics and advanced packaging across electric vehicles, data center power and compute, photonics, and aerospace and defense.
The company also linked the investment to a broader effort to strengthen domestic supply chains for advanced materials and semiconductor enabling technologies. Nitride Global said it intends to scale materials production, deepen customer engagement, and advance early-stage production activities in Wichita. In its announcement, the company described the financing as part of a transition from technology development into early production and commercialization, with a focus on building engineering and technical capabilities and expanding collaborations across government and commercial markets.
Accelerate Venture Partners and eGrowth Ventures were presented as strategic local backers aligned with Wichita’s innovation and advanced manufacturing ecosystem. Nitride Global said the investors bring experience supporting early-stage and growth-stage technology companies, as well as a commitment to fostering innovation and economic development in the region. The company suggested that their participation reflects rising interest in advanced materials and semiconductor supply chain resilience as part of U.S. manufacturing competitiveness.
Nitride Global also cited recent awards from the Air Force Research Laboratory and NASA as momentum catalysts for its aerospace and defense work. The company said those awards are accelerating its efforts in the sector and enabling it to work more closely with organizations such as the National Institute for Aviation Research and the broader Wichita aerospace and defense ecosystem. In combination with the new financing, Nitride Global framed this as a pathway to advance both technical milestones and market adoption while building a local production footprint and partnerships.
Founded in 2021, Nitride Global said it specializes in ultrawide bandgap materials, including ultra-high-purity aluminum nitride boules, and advanced packaging solutions based on what it described as patented aluminum oxynitride technology. The company positioned its roadmap around improving performance and thermal management in semiconductor devices and microelectronics, and it framed its long-term objective as enabling more efficient, higher-performance systems across critical infrastructure and industrial markets.
