Norbert Health has secured $14 million in a Series A funding round to further advance its innovative physical AI technology for autonomous robotic nursing assistants. Prominent investors backed the round, including William A. Marino of Cardinal Group, Exor Seeds, and CareIT. Several angel investors also joined the effort, including Alexis Le-Quoc and Olivier Pomel, co-founders of Datadog; Saeju Jeong, co-founder of Noom; and Thomas Clozel, co-founder of Owkin.
Norbert’s innovation centers on a sophisticated software control system that adds advanced clinical capabilities to partner robotic hardware. These Norbert-powered robots are engineered to autonomously conduct patient rounds, capturing vital signs without physical contact. Their functionality also extends to comprehensive assessments, prompt responses to patient requests, and diligent documentation of all encounters in electronic health records to support continuity of care.
The robust system integrates several key features, including contactless physiological sensing, mobility assessments, motor-function evaluations, cognitive and mental health indicators, along with behavioral monitoring. Since its inception in August 2025, Norbert has been operational in skilled nursing facilities, where its automated systems now manage rounds for hundreds of patients each day, demonstrating significant impact in healthcare settings.
Norbert Health has reported impressive metrics: a patient acceptance rate of 96% and monitoring compliance of 82%. These figures indicate a remarkable improvement, nearly doubling the baseline for traditional manual remote monitoring methods, showcasing the effectiveness and acceptance of the technology in real-world applications.
The newly acquired capital will play a crucial role in Norbert’s strategic plans, supporting the expansion of its clinical skill library, helping secure necessary regulatory clearances, and enabling deployment of its systems in additional care environments beyond its current facilities. To date, the company has raised $19 million in funding, underscoring growing interest and investment in integrating AI technology into healthcare.
KEY QUOTES:
“Robots that assist nurses can help reduce the burden, but only if they have clinical skills. Previous attempts put logistics robots on healthcare floors and never touched the core of a nurse’s work.”
Alex Winter, CEO and Co-Founder of Norbert Health
“Norbert is the rare physical AI company already earning its place in live clinical operations: real patients, real facilities, real workflows, every day.”
Filippo Monteleone, President and Founder of CareIT
