NORBIT announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in Water Linked, a Trondheim-based provider of underwater navigation and imaging technology.
Water Linked was founded in 2013 and serves customers across global maritime, defense, and offshore energy markets.
The company was previously referenced in NORBIT’s May 6, 2026 stock exchange announcement regarding exclusive negotiations for an add-on acquisition of an undisclosed Oceans-related technology company.
The acquisition broadens and complements NORBIT’s Oceans product offering and strengthens its position as a supplier of tailored technology for underwater vehicles.
Water Linked’s product portfolio includes Doppler Velocity Logs, 3D imaging sonars, underwater modems, and acoustic positioning systems.
The company’s technologies support navigation, perception, and autonomy across subsea and surface applications, including remotely operated vehicles, autonomous underwater vehicles, and uncrewed surface vessels operating in GPS-denied environments.
Water Linked’s products are used in subsea inspection, offshore energy operations, marine research, defense, and underwater infrastructure development.
Water Linked is expected to generate around NOK 100 million in revenue in 2026 with an EBITDA margin in the range of 25% to 30%, excluding potential synergies from combining with NORBIT.
The transaction values Water Linked at NOK 330 million on a cash- and debt-free basis and will be fully cash-settled at closing. NORBIT plans to finance the acquisition with a new term loan.
Closing is expected on or about June 30, 2026.
Water Linked will continue operating as Water Linked, a NORBIT Company. Existing customers are expected to have continuity in products, support, and customer relationships while benefiting over time from NORBIT’s broader capabilities, global sales platform, and expanded product offering.
