Norm Ai announced a significant expansion of its long-standing relationship with Blackstone as the legal and compliance AI company launches its new AI-native law firm, Norm Law. The development includes a new $50 million investment from Blackstone Innovations Investments and funds affiliated with Blackstone Growth, strengthening the firm’s ability to scale its legal and compliance AI capabilities for in-house teams and financial services clients.
Blackstone and Norm Ai will work together to design and develop Norm Law’s legal services, initially focused on financial services institutions. Blackstone already uses Norm Ai’s platform to streamline legal and compliance workflows and will now explore how Norm Law can further support its needs.
Norm Ai’s Legal Engineering approach combines a no-code AI platform with a team of more than 35 attorneys trained as Legal Engineers. These professionals convert legal workflows into AI agents powered by large language models. The company says this approach has been validated across its client base, which collectively manages more than $30 trillion in assets. This foundation supported the creation of Norm Law, a New York-based law firm built around AI-native workflows.
Norm Ai developed a process for tailoring and supervising AI agents in live legal matters, aiming to improve collaboration between AI tools and practicing attorneys to enhance speed, accuracy, and reliability. Norm Law is also expanding at the Partner and Senior Associate levels as it ramps up operations.
The firm’s Legal AI Committee includes high-profile leaders with regulatory, legal, and corporate experience: Ben Lawsky, Troy Paredes, Dan Berkovitz, and Tom Glocer.
Norm Ai has now raised more than $140 million from a prominent group of investors, including Blackstone, Bain Capital, Vanguard, Citi, New York Life, TIAA, Coatue, Craft Ventures, Tony James, Philippe Laffont, Henry R. Kravis, and Marc Benioff.
