Norrsken And NVIDIA To Launch Stockholm AI Lab As Part Of €300 Million AI Initiative

Norrsken Foundation is partnering with NVIDIA to launch the Stockholm AI Lab, a dedicated hub for AI-native founders developing technologies aimed at addressing challenges across climate, health, food systems, manufacturing, and society.

The Stockholm AI Lab is scheduled to open in 2027 at Birger Jarlsgatan 37 in central Stockholm, approximately 200 meters from Norrsken House Stockholm. The facility will house selected European AI startups as well as NVIDIA’s Stockholm office and will serve as a gathering point for founders, investors, researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers.

The initiative is a physical extension of Norrsken’s Prompt What Matters program, through which its funds committed €300 million to European startups using AI to address major societal and environmental challenges. NVIDIA will serve as the founding technology partner for the lab.

NVIDIA will bring AI computing infrastructure, developer platforms, and expertise spanning physical AI, robotics, simulation, and life sciences. Participating founders will also gain connections to NVIDIA’s global startup ecosystem through its Inception Program.

The facility will provide private offices for AI startups, shared community space, and regular programming focused on technology and thought leadership. Members will also receive access across Norrsken’s two Stockholm locations and connections to its broader international network.

The ground floor will include a demonstration laboratory operated by NVIDIA and Root Bio, formerly known as Agteria. Root Bio is a Norrsken portfolio company using AI to design molecules for biological applications, including technologies intended to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The demonstration facility will showcase how AI-driven biotechnology can move from computational models to physical molecules and real-world applications. Norrsken and NVIDIA plan to select additional demo partners across areas including robotics, climate technology, health, and manufacturing.

Stockholm AI Lab builds on Norrsken’s growing network of physical communities. The foundation currently operates Norrsken Houses in Stockholm, Barcelona, Kigali, Brussels, and Amsterdam, with each location providing a regional ecosystem for entrepreneurs, investors, operators, and other participants.

Norrsken Foundation was founded in 2016 by Klarna co-founder Niklas Adalberth. Its broader ecosystem now includes more than 100,000 entrepreneurs, investors, and other participants focused on companies addressing global challenges.

KEY QUOTES:

“A year ago we pledged 300 million euros to European founders using AI to solve problems that actually matter. What these founders need now is what every great movement needs: a place. Somewhere to find each other, their investors, their first customers, and the conviction that they are not building alone. The Stockholm AI Lab is designed to be exactly this, and that is what we are opening together with NVIDIA in the middle of the city.”

Niklas Adalberth, Founder Of Norrsken Foundation

“At Root Bio, we’re automating biological discovery to tackle problems that were once too expensive to pursue. Working with NVIDIA and Norrsken brings together AI expertise and a community of founders tackling challenges that matter. For us, this lab is a chance to show discovery in action, exchange ideas and explore what more we can solve with biology.”
