NOV Inc. announced that Sanjay Chowbey, President and Chief Executive Officer of Kennametal Inc., has been appointed to its Board of Directors.
Chowbey brings more than 20 years of experience leading global manufacturing and industrial technology businesses. In his current role at Kennametal, he oversees a global manufacturer of advanced tooling, wear-resistant materials, and engineered components, and also serves on the company’s board.
Prior to becoming CEO, Chowbey led Kennametal’s Metal Cutting segment. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Flowserve Corporation, Danaher Corporation, and Arvin Meritor Inc. He also serves on the board of the National Association of Manufacturers.
Chowbey holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from B.I.T. Sindri in India, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
At NOV, he will serve on the Audit Committee. Following his appointment, the board will consist of nine directors, eight of whom are independent.
