U.K.-based AI infrastructure hyperscaler Nscale announced that it has raised $2 billion in a Series C funding round, valuing the company at $14.6 billion as it accelerates the global expansion of its artificial intelligence infrastructure platform.

The round was led by Aker ASA and 8090 Industries, with participation from Astra Capital Management, Citadel, Dell, Jane Street, Lenovo, Linden Advisors, Nokia, NVIDIA, and Point72. The financing will support the continued buildout of Nscale’s vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform, spanning GPU compute, networking, data services, and orchestration software.

Nscale said the new capital will enable the company to expand infrastructure deployments across Europe, North America, and Asia while strengthening engineering and operations teams. The company is focused on delivering large-scale production-grade AI deployments designed to support enterprise training, fine-tuning, and inference workloads.

The company believes that AI adoption across industries is accelerating rapidly and that the primary constraint on growth is not demand but the ability to deploy reliable computing infrastructure at scale. By building integrated infrastructure that combines compute, networking, and data center operations, Nscale aims to provide the foundational platform required to support the next generation of AI applications.

Alongside the funding announcement, Nscale also confirmed that Sheryl Sandberg, Susan Decker, and Nick Clegg will join the company’s board of directors. The additions bring extensive experience across technology leadership, governance, and global policy.

Sandberg is currently the co-founder of Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners and previously served as Chief Operating Officer of Meta and an early executive at Google. Decker is CEO and co-founder of Raftr and previously served as President of Yahoo while also holding board roles at companies including Costco Wholesale Corporation, Berkshire Hathaway, Vail Resorts, Chime, Vox Media, and Automattic. Clegg is a General Partner at Hiro Capital and previously served as the United Kingdom’s Deputy Prime Minister and President of Global Affairs at Meta.

Nscale also announced that its joint venture with Aker in Norway will be fully integrated into the company. The joint venture, originally announced in July 2025, will now operate directly under Nscale’s structure while Aker remains a major shareholder and its CEO Øyvind Eriksen continues to serve on the company’s board.

The integration is intended to streamline governance and execution while maintaining continuity for existing projects and partnerships. Nscale emphasized that its commitments to waste heat reuse, local skills development, and investment in regional infrastructure will remain unchanged as the company expands its operations.

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC and J.P. Morgan served as joint placement agents for the capital raise, which includes the company’s Pre Series C SAFE.

KEY QUOTES:

“This is the fourth industrial revolution; the world is changing at a rapid pace. Over the next 5 years, Artificial Intelligence will be integrated into every industry, every product, and every job. Accelerating drug discovery, extending human life, autonomizing travel and robotics, lifting productivity, and driving massive growth. This is leading to the largest infrastructure buildout in human history. Nscale is leading this buildout. We are building this foundation that the market sits on, the engine of superintelligence.”

Josh Payne, CEO And Founder, Nscale

“This step strengthens execution by putting delivery and governance under one roof, while keeping continuity for the people and projects already underway. We have full confidence in Nscale’s ability to deliver responsibly in Norway over the long term, and we believe this positions the work for faster progress and durable value creation.”

Øyvind Eriksen, President And CEO, Aker ASA

“We are living through a new era defined by AI, and the limiting factor is infrastructure. Compute, energy, and industrial-scale deployment capacity will determine which nations and companies lead the next generation of technological and economic progress. Nscale has built a platform uniquely capable of solving this challenge by vertically integrating the critical layers of AI infrastructure — from energy and data centers to compute and orchestration. At 8090 Industries, we invest in the systems that enable entire industries to scale and are proud to partner with Josh and the Nscale team as they build the foundational backbone for the global AI economy.”
