Nuro: $203 Million Series E Raised At $6 Billion Valuation For Advancing Autonomous Driving Technology

By Amit Chowdhry • Aug 24, 2025

Nuro, a company known for its autonomous driving technology, has raised $203 million in Series E funding, valuing the company at $6 billion. Investors include Uber, NVIDIA, Baillie Gifford, Kindred Ventures, Icehouse Ventures, and Pledge Ventures. This round follows $106 million raised earlier in April 2025, with past investors like T. Rowe Price, Fidelity, Tiger Global, Greylock Partners, and XN.

The new funding will enable Nuro to grow its AI-based autonomous driving system and expand its commercial partnerships. Nuro’s technology, called Nuro Driver, can be added to cars, ride-sharing fleets, and personal vehicles. NVIDIA is now both a tech partner and investor, with Nuro using NVIDIA’s latest hardware and cloud-based GPUs for data processing and AI training.

Recently, Nuro teamed up with Lucid and Uber to launch a global robotaxi service, planning to deploy over 20,000 Lucid vehicles with Nuro’s technology in many cities, starting in the U.S. next year. Uber’s investment depends on hitting specific development and business milestones.

With more than $2.3 billion raised overall, Nuro has spent nine years developing its tech and five years deploying autonomous vehicles in multiple states, making it one of the few companies to operate driverless cars in cities at scale.
