NuuEnergy Raises €4.3 Million Seed Round To Scale Regional Heat-Pump Installation Model

By Amit Chowdhry ● Feb 18, 2026

Munich-based EnergyTech startup nuuEnergy has raised €4.3 million in a seed funding round to accelerate the expansion of its regional heat-pump installation businesses and further digitize its operations. The round was led by amberra, the corporate venturing studio of the Cooperative Financial Network Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken, with participation from EnjoyVenture and existing investors High-Tech Gründerfonds, Vireo Ventures, better ventures, and Bynd Venture Capital.

Despite a market dip in 2024, the heat-pump sector has posted double-digit annual growth since 2020. Around 229,000 units were sold last year alone, representing a 55% year-on-year increase. According to the German Heat Pump Association, installations could reach up to 500,000 units annually by 2030. In Germany’s existing single-family housing market alone, this translates to a potential volume exceeding €21 billion. Switching to heat pumps can cut building-related CO₂ emissions by up to 95%, but labor shortages and inefficient processes continue to constrain expansion.

Founded at the end of 2023, nuuEnergy focuses on building locally rooted, digitally enabled craft businesses to plan, install, and maintain heat pumps. The company generates revenue through installations and long-term maintenance contracts, with additional upside from services such as water-softening systems and energy consulting. Between 2024 and 2025, nuuEnergy quintupled its revenue and expects to deliver projects in the high three-digit range in 2026.

The company operates regional “hubs” designed to attract skilled workers with modern software tools and competitive working conditions. Positioned between traditional craft enterprises and digital-first “neo-installers,” nuuEnergy’s teams currently serve the greater Munich, Hamburg and Cologne regions within roughly a 1.5-hour radius. In select areas, the company partners with established local craft businesses. Fully digitized workflows and on-site system planners support customized technical designs for each building, aiming to maximize heating efficiency.

With the new capital, nuuEnergy plans to expand its regional specialist businesses and further digitize the end-to-end installation process.

Tobias Klug, Co-Founder, nuuEnergy, and Julia Rafschneider, Co-Founder, nuuEnergy

“With our investment in nuuEnergy, the Cooperative Financial Network is actively shaping the energy-efficient modernisation of residential buildings in Germany. The collaboration with the start-up enables the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken to combine regional value creation with digital financing processes. What particularly impressed us about nuuEnergy is its close cooperation with local skilled trades businesses – and, by extension, with the customers of our banks.”

Björn Schmuck, Managing Director, amberra

“With many LPs deeply rooted in the SME sector themselves, we strongly believe in nuuEnergy’s mission and positioning to make genuine quality scalable. With nuuEnergy, I can say with a clear conscience: I would buy a heat pump from them myself. The team is not focused on digital sales alone, but on delivering real, long-term innovation in skilled trades and engineering.”

Gerrit Gnisa, Investment Manager, EnjoyVenture

“We see significant potential. The heat-pump market has clearly regained momentum—and nuuEnergy offers a compelling solution: working hand in hand with the craft sector, a scalable model is emerging that enables millions of households to switch to heat pumps while maintaining high quality.”
