Nuveen Private Capital Surpasses $100 Billion In Committed Capital

Nuveen Private Capital has surpassed $100 billion in committed capital, reaching the milestone roughly three years after the platform was established through the combination of Churchill Asset Management and Arcmont Asset Management.

Nuveen Private Capital was created in March 2023 to bring together Churchill’s U.S. private capital capabilities with Arcmont’s European platform. Since its formation, committed capital across the combined business has increased by more than 50%, reflecting continued investor demand for private credit and related private-market strategies.

The platform now includes approximately 400 professionals operating across 15 global offices and serves more than 6,000 investors through a range of private capital strategies.

During the past year, Nuveen Private Capital invested approximately $27 billion across more than 400 middle-market investments. The platform primarily works with private equity-backed middle-market businesses and sponsors across the United States and Europe.

Its investment capabilities span senior lending, junior capital, capital solutions, impact lending, NAV financing, equity co-investments, secondaries, and private equity fund commitments.

Nuveen Private Capital said that combining Churchill and Arcmont’s fundraising activity during the past five years would place the organization among the world’s leading private credit fundraisers based on a recent Private Equity International ranking.

The platform’s expansion has also included additional strategic capital. In September 2025, Hunter Point Capital and Temasek made a minority investment in Nuveen Private Capital, while Temasek also committed long-term capital to the platform.

Nuveen Private Capital operates within Nuveen, the investment management arm of TIAA. Following Nuveen’s October 2026 acquisition of Schroders, the broader organization oversees approximately $2.6 trillion in assets globally.

Management said the $100 billion milestone reflects the strategy of maintaining Churchill and Arcmont’s established investment teams and market expertise while using Nuveen’s resources to expand the combined platform.

The business is positioning itself for further growth across both private credit and private equity-related solutions as institutional investors continue allocating capital to private markets.
