  • Nuvest Ventures announced it acquired the assets of Lucky Tackle Box — which is a monthly subscription boxes company for fishing.

Private equity firm Nuvest Ventures has acquired the assets of Lucky Tackle Box — which is a company that facilitated monthly subscription boxes in fishing. And a new management team has assumed operations.

This planned acquisition represents the company’s larger goal of improving customer service, satisfying increasing market demands, and advancing the Lucky Tackle Box brand.

Lucky Tackle Box’s has been to supply the active subculture of American fishermen with monthly subscription boxes full of bait and tackle from the country’s most trusted brands. And the acquisition of Lucky Tackle Box should put the company in a better position to improve inventory management and fulfill orders for its loyal network of tens of thousands of subscribers.

“This is an exciting time of change for Lucky Tackle Box. Our brand is now backed by a motivated venture group who supports and believes in the Lucky Tackle Box mission,” said Lucky Tackle Box’s Director of Strategic Procurement & Supply Chain Alberto Leon.

“Our team fully supports the acquisition of Lucky Tackle Box, and we’re excited to invest in their goal to bring the best of fishing to American sportsmen and sportswomen. We look forward to a future of collaboration,” added Nuvest Ventures associate Chris Banholzer.

Due to the acquisition process, Lucky Tackle Box had to briefly pause service during the month of July during which subscribers were not charged for new product. And the service has been resumed and fishermen around the country can expect their August box to arrive within the next 6 weeks.

Lucky Tackle Box’s digital presence is going to be supported by wowbrands — which is a full-service agency based out of Columbus, Ohio.

“It’s a new day for Lucky Tackle Box,” explained Andrew Catapano — the CEO of wowbrands. “We’re excited to advance this brand’s digital presence and provide an exemplary user experience to their extensive network of loyal customers.”
