NAVER’s venture arm NAVER D2SF has made a follow-on investment in Nuvilab, participating in the company’s Series A bridge round as it accelerates expansion into the North American healthcare market.
The investment builds on NAVER D2SF’s initial seed backing shortly after Nuvilab’s founding in 2021 and reflects continued confidence in the company’s growth trajectory and commercial traction, particularly in the United States.
Nuvilab has developed an AI-powered nutrition management solution that uses image-based scanning to analyze food type, intake, and nutritional content in real time. The system is deployed across environments such as hospitals, schools, and daycare centers, enabling passive and continuous data collection without requiring manual input.
The company’s platform is powered by a multimodal AI model trained on more than 100 million food data points, delivering 98% accuracy within 0.3 seconds. This approach has driven a 95% retention rate, significantly above typical healthcare industry benchmarks.
Following strong validation in Korea across B2B and B2G markets, Nuvilab is now scaling its presence in North America. As of the end of 2025, the company reports more than 1,000 global clients and 100,000 active users. It has also secured an exclusive partnership with one of the world’s largest catering groups to deploy its solution across hospitals in the United States.
In hospital settings, Nuvilab’s technology is demonstrating measurable operational improvements. By automating the process of verifying patient meal tickets against actual meals served, the platform has reduced errors by 49% and shortened food preparation time by 23% compared to manual workflows, based on proof-of-concept results.
Looking ahead, the company plans to expand into broader healthcare applications, including dietary intake analytics and integrations with insurers and pharmaceutical companies, aiming to better structure and utilize nutrition data within clinical and operational workflows.
