NVIDIA announced a $2 billion investment in semiconductor company Marvell Technology as part of a broader strategic partnership to expand artificial intelligence infrastructure and enable more flexible, scalable AI systems. The investment accompanies deeper collaboration between the two companies across custom silicon, networking, and next-generation data center technologies.

The announcement was made through an official press release published on NVIDIA’s newsroom on March 31, 2026. The partnership integrates Marvell into NVIDIA’s AI ecosystem through NVLink Fusion, a platform designed to support semi-custom AI infrastructure and heterogeneous computing environments.

As part of the collaboration, Marvell will contribute custom XPUs and networking technologies compatible with NVLink Fusion, while NVIDIA will provide its broader AI stack, including CPUs, GPUs, interconnects, and data center networking solutions. The companies aim to enable customers to build specialized AI systems with greater flexibility and interoperability.

The partnership also includes joint development of silicon photonics and optical interconnect technologies, which use light rather than traditional copper wiring to move data more efficiently. In addition, NVIDIA and Marvell plan to work together to advance telecommunications infrastructure for AI workloads, including integrating AI capabilities into 5G and future 6G networks via NVIDIA’s AI-RAN platform.

The collaboration builds on existing efforts between the two companies and reflects increasing demand for high-performance infrastructure to support the rapid growth of AI applications, including large-scale model training and inference.
