Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the company’s forecast for a $200 billion CPU market opportunity includes China, highlighting Nvidia’s continued focus on the country despite ongoing U.S.-China technology tensions and export restrictions, according to Reuters.

Huang made the comments while speaking to reporters in Taipei ahead of the Computex trade show. The remarks followed Nvidia’s recent earnings call, during which Huang said the company’s new “Vera” CPU architecture opens access to a new $200 billion market opportunity.

The company is increasingly emphasizing CPUs alongside GPUs as demand for agentic AI systems, which are designed to perform more autonomous functions, expands. Nvidia believes this shift broadens infrastructure demand beyond graphics processors traditionally used for training large AI models.

When asked whether China was included in the company’s long-term CPU market forecast, Huang responded: “I would think so.” He added that the opportunity spans all data centers and CPUs and represents a new market for Nvidia.

Nvidia has received U.S. licenses to export its H200 AI chips to China, although Chinese regulators have not yet approved imports as Beijing continues promoting domestic semiconductor suppliers. Reuters previously reported that around 10 Chinese companies had been cleared to buy the H200 chips, but no deliveries have taken place so far.

Huang described China as a “very important” and “very large” market for Nvidia, underscoring the company’s belief that long-term AI infrastructure demand in the region remains substantial.

The comments also come as Nvidia ramps production of its Vera Rubin platform, which combines the company’s Vera CPU and Rubin GPU architectures. Huang said the production increase is expected to create
