Alison Wagonfeld, a senior marketing leader at Google Cloud, announced she will leave Google in late January to join NVIDIA as chief marketing officer, where she will lead the company’s marketing and communications as it enters its “next phase of growth.”
In a LinkedIn post, Wagonfeld said she is departing after nearly a decade helping build Google Cloud, describing its evolution from “a promising start-up in 2016” into “a thriving $60B run-rate business today.” She said she is looking forward to joining “Jensen’s leadership team” at NVIDIA and called the move a transition “from one AI leader to another at such a transformational time.”
Wagonfeld’s appointment comes as NVIDIA continues to expand beyond its core graphics and data center businesses into a broader platform role across AI infrastructure, software, and enterprise adoption, areas where brand positioning, partner ecosystems, and developer engagement are increasingly central to growth.
Wagonfeld also thanked Google Chief Marketing Officer Lorraine Twohill, Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, and Google’s Cloud Marketing organization for their collaboration over the past several years, adding that Google’s commitment to customers and partners “has never been stronger.” She noted that Google and NVIDIA maintain a close partnership and said she expects that collaboration to continue.
