NVIDIA And Palantir Launch Sovereign AI Stack For Critical Supply Chains

NVIDIA and Palantir Technologies announced a collaboration to bring sovereign AI capabilities to critical supply chains, beginning with NVIDIA’s own global operations.

The companies are combining NVIDIA Nemotron open models with Palantir Foundry, Palantir Artificial Intelligence Platform, and the Palantir Ontology to create an AI stack designed to improve supply chain visibility, identify constraints, preserve operational knowledge, and support faster decision-making while allowing organizations to maintain control over proprietary data.

The system is first being deployed across NVIDIA’s highly complex AI infrastructure supply chain, which spans millions of components, thousands of suppliers, and a global network of manufacturing partners.

For example, each NVIDIA Vera Rubin rack contains approximately 1.3 million parts, requiring coordinated availability across compute, memory, networking, power, cooling, and mechanical components.

The companies said the new AI infrastructure will help NVIDIA codify the operational expertise needed to manage that network and accelerate the process from semiconductor wafer production to functioning AI systems capable of producing their first tokens.

Within Palantir AIP, NVIDIA’s cuOpt optimization software supports scenario planning and helps teams model supply constraints, evaluate tradeoffs, and determine the operational impact of allocation decisions.

Customized Nemotron models can then recommend actions, explain tradeoffs, and identify emerging risks, while human supply chain specialists retain authority over final decisions.

NVIDIA supply chain teams are also using the technology as a shared command center, initially focusing on materials allocation decisions that influence how quickly components move through production.

The system is designed to identify potential bottlenecks earlier, compare alternative courses of action more quickly, and allocate materials based on their broader impact on end-to-end production.

Organizations using the architecture can customize NVIDIA Nemotron open models with their own operational data through Palantir Foundry and AIP.

The companies said this approach is important because individual companies have different supplier networks, value chains, operational constraints, and decision criteria that cannot necessarily be captured by a general-purpose AI model.

Proprietary data can be prepared and augmented using NVIDIA NeMo Data Libraries, enabling businesses to create specialized AI systems that reflect their own operations while retaining control of their models, data, and deployment environments.

The architecture also incorporates NVIDIA NeMo AutoModel and NeMo RL libraries with Palantir Autopilot, creating a feedback loop in which recommendations, actions, and real-world production outcomes can be used to improve the specialized models supporting supply chain workflows.

NVIDIA and Palantir plan to apply lessons from NVIDIA’s deployment to organizations across industries including manufacturing, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, retail, energy, healthcare, automotive, aerospace, technology, and government.

The companies are positioning the technology as a way for organizations to convert fragmented supply chain information into faster and more resilient operational decisions without relinquishing ownership of sensitive proprietary data.

The deployment runs on NVIDIA reference architectures and the jointly developed Palantir Sovereign AI Operating System Reference Architecture, which is also supported by Dell Technologies and Cisco.

Customers can deploy the AI stack on premises, through infrastructure providers including Cisco and Dell, or through colocation and cloud environments using providers including Rackspace and Nebius.

This deployment flexibility is intended to allow enterprises to operate AI systems wherever their data security, infrastructure, regulatory, and operational requirements require them to reside.
