Nvidia and Synopsys announced a major multi-year strategic partnership aimed at reshaping design and engineering across industries by combining Nvidia’s accelerated computing, agentic AI technologies, and Omniverse digital twin platforms with Synopsys’ market-leading engineering and simulation solutions. As part of the expanded partnership, Nvidia also invested $2 billion in Synopsys common stock at a purchase price of $414.79 per share.

The companies said the collaboration is designed to address growing engineering challenges across sectors such as semiconductors, aerospace, automotive, industrial systems, robotics, energy, and healthcare, where increasing complexity, rising development costs, and faster time-to-market pressures require more advanced simulation and AI-driven design tools.

By tightly integrating Nvidia’s CUDA-accelerated computing stack, AI-Physics technologies, and agentic AI systems with Synopsys’ broad portfolio of chip design, physical verification, molecular modeling, electromagnetic analysis, optical simulation, and system-level engineering tools, the companies aim to unlock levels of speed, precision, and scalability not achievable through traditional CPU-based workflows.

The partnership includes joint development across several areas. Synopsys will adopt Nvidia CUDA-X libraries and AI-Physics technologies to accelerate further and optimize its compute-intensive engineering applications. The companies will also expand their work on agentic AI by integrating Synopsys AgentEngineer with Nvidia’s agentic AI stack—including NIM microservices, the NeMo Agent Toolkit, and Nemotron models—to enable more autonomous design flows in electronic design automation, simulation, and analysis.

Nvidia and Synopsys also plan to advance next-generation digital twins that tightly connect the physical and digital worlds, enabling highly accurate virtual design, testing, and validation across industries. These solutions will utilize Nvidia Omniverse, Nvidia Cosmos, and other simulation technologies.

To broaden industry access, the companies will enable cloud-ready, GPU-accelerated engineering environments for teams of all sizes. They also plan joint go-to-market initiatives leveraging Synopsys’ global customer base and sales network, including Synopsys’ existing agreement to license, sell, and support Omniverse technology embedded in its simulation solutions.

The companies emphasized that the partnership is not exclusive and that both organizations will continue collaborating across the broader semiconductor and electronic design automation ecosystem.
