Obin AI: $7 Million Seed Funding Raised By Enterprise AI Company Building Agentic Workforce For Financial Institutions

Obin AI, an enterprise artificial intelligence company focused on financial services, has emerged from stealth with $7 million in seed funding to build what it describes as an agentic workforce for financial institutions. The round was led by Motive Partners, with participation from angel investors and advisors, including Dr. Fei-Fei Li and Lukasz Kaiser.

The company is developing an AI platform designed specifically for asset managers and financial services firms, aiming to address the “last mile” challenge of AI trust in high-stakes financial decision-making. While agentic AI systems have demonstrated strong performance in areas such as coding and general business workflows, financial institutions require significantly higher levels of accuracy, auditability, and regulatory alignment for large-scale capital allocation decisions.

Obin AI’s platform enables organizations to deploy AI agents that operate within core workflows, helping institutions expand capacity, accelerate capital deployment, and improve risk pricing. The company emphasizes that its technology is intended to augment, rather than replace, human decision-making, enabling firms to increase operational scale while maintaining oversight.

The company reports that it is already working with several of the world’s largest financial institutions, including a top-five U.S. bank. Deployments are moving from pilot to production within weeks, and in certain use cases, institutions have achieved accuracy levels sufficient to rely on AI-generated outputs directly in mission-critical workflows.

Obin AI was founded by executives with deep experience in both artificial intelligence and financial services. Co-founder and CEO Apoorv Saxena previously served as Head of AI at JPMorgan and led multiple AI products at Google Cloud, including Translate and Contact Center AI. Co-founder and CTO Dr. Valliappa Lakshmanan is a veteran AI architect, former Google and Silver Lake executive, and author of several books on artificial intelligence.

A key differentiator of the platform is its open architecture, which allows financial institutions to retain full ownership and control over their data, models, and intellectual property. The system is designed for regulated environments, with every interaction auditable and aligned with internal governance standards. It also incorporates historical institutional context into its agent layer, enabling AI systems to reason across decades of data, legacy documents, and complex financial records.

Obin AI says its platform is already being used by leading global financial institutions representing over $1 trillion in assets under management, supporting use cases such as continuous monitoring, scalable underwriting, and earlier risk detection.

KEY QUOTES:

“In financial services, you can be 95 percent accurate and still be 100 percent wrong. In a regulated industry managing billions or trillions of dollars, that final margin of error determines whether AI can be trusted. We built Obin AI to solve for that ‘last mile,’ where institutions can rely on AI to support high-stakes, firmwide decisions with confidence.”
Apoorv Saxena, Co-Founder And Chief Executive Officer Of Obin AI

“In an increasingly crowded AI landscape, Obin AI stands apart. Led by a veteran team with a track record of scaling production-grade AI, Obin AI understands the complexity required to deliver the long-tail reliability that financial institutions demand. With an architecture designed specifically for regulated finance and to ensure full enterprise ownership of IP, Obin AI is uniquely positioned to operationalize AI in the highest-stakes environments.”
Ramin Niroumand, Partner, Investments And Head Of Venture At Motive Partners

“Obin AI has successfully bridged the gap from baseline Agentic AI outputs to production-grade performance. This has enabled us to confidently replace an existing workflow rather than merely drive incremental efficiencies. They have been true strategic partners to Pinegrove and we highly value their focus on accurate, repeatable results.”
E-John Lee, Chief Operating Officer Of Pinegrove Venture Partners
