OceanSound Partners announced the appointment of Kenneth Wolff as Partner and Chief Legal Officer, strengthening the private equity firm’s leadership team following the recent closing of $3.4 billion in connection with Fund III.
Wolff will provide strategic and legal leadership across OceanSound’s transactions, portfolio companies, and governance matters.
He joins the firm from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he spent 27 years and most recently served as a partner and co-head of the firm’s Private Equity Group. During his tenure, Wolff advised public and private companies and private equity firms on a broad range of U.S. and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, including numerous transactions in the defense, government services, and technology sectors.
Wolff has been recognized by Chambers USA and was previously named a Rising Star by Law360. He was also included in Crain’s New York Business’ 40 Under 40 list and cited by The New York Times as one of the “next generation of deal makers.”
OceanSound invests in technology and technology-enabled services companies serving aerospace, defense, government, and highly regulated end markets. The firm currently manages more than $8.2 billion in regulatory assets under management and completed the close of Fund III in March 2026.
To date, OceanSound has completed 12 platform investments, which have collectively executed 58 add-on acquisitions. These businesses generate more than $4 billion in revenue and employ approximately 14,000 people.
Wolff earned a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University.
