Octagon Credit Investors appointed John Zilko as Head of Investor Solutions and Head of Business Development.
Zilko will lead the firm’s Investor Solutions Group and report to Chief Operating Officer Douglas McDermott.
McDermott previously oversaw the group and will now focus exclusively on his COO responsibilities.
Zilko will also lead Octagon’s business development function.
He will work with Managing Director Patrick Glavey and Senior Managing Director John Dudzik to identify new opportunities across broadly syndicated loans, direct lending, structured credit, and multi-asset credit strategies.
Zilko brings more than 15 years of experience in business development, institutional client coverage, and product development.
He joins Octagon from Antares Capital, where he was Managing Director and Head of Americas Investor Coverage.
In that role, he oversaw institutional sales and client management across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.
Zilko previously served as Managing Director and Head of U.S. Institutional & RIA Sales at PineBridge Investments and held earlier positions at PIMCO and Lord Abbett.
Octagon manages approximately $31 billion in assets.
