Ogier announced it has welcomed new partner Dennis Li to its investment funds practice in Hong Kong. Li’s practice focuses on fund formation and digital assets more widely. He advises investment managers and financial institutions throughout the entire lifecycle of their fund structures, from fund formation to downstream investments and divestments, ongoing maintenance and regulatory compliance, restructuring, and dissolution.

Li assists clients in various funds, including hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, cryptocurrency funds, virtual assets funds, and tokenized funds.

Li also advises on structuring for token issuance, formation of decentralized autonomous organizations, tokenization, registration and licensing requirements and other general regulatory compliance obligations and corporate matters in the fast-evolving virtual asset landscape in the Cayman Islands and the BVI.

Before joining Ogier, Li worked for another offshore law firm. Dennis also had in-house experience at CCB International (the investment banking arm of China Construction Bank) and at Huobi Technology Holdings Limited, a leading digital assets company.  Dennis trained at Simmons & Simmons in Hong Kong and completed a secondment at Credit Suisse during his traineeship.

Ogier’s Investment funds team in Hong Kong is now Asia’s largest dedicated offshore funds team and advises some of the region’s most high-profile investment managers.
