Oliv Financial Secures Up To $500 Million Loan Purchase Partnership With International Bank

Oliv Financial, a Chicago-based technology-enabled consumer lending platform, has secured a long-term forward-flow loan purchase agreement with a multibillion-dollar international bank, establishing a funding framework of up to $500 million to support its national expansion. The partnership will enable the bank to purchase eligible consumer loans originated through Oliv’s platform, providing institutional capital to support future lending activity.

The agreement is designed to expand access to credit for consumers who may be underserved by traditional lending approaches. By combining its technology-enabled underwriting capabilities with a long-term institutional funding arrangement, Oliv intends to increase its lending capacity while maintaining its focus on responsible credit decisions.

Under the forward-flow arrangement, the banking partner will fund up to $500 million in purchases of eligible consumer loans. The amount and timing of purchases will depend on loan production, eligibility criteria, purchase conditions, and other program requirements. The bank’s identity and additional financial terms were not disclosed.

Unlike a traditional corporate financing arrangement, a forward-flow program enables an institutional investor to purchase qualifying loans as they are originated. For Oliv, this provides a framework to connect future loan production with institutional demand for consumer credit assets.

The partnership will also incorporate technology from Edge Focus, a provider of consumer credit technology and capital solutions. Its proprietary Origin underwriting platform will serve as the credit intelligence layer within Oliv’s lending operations.

Origin combines traditional credit data, cash-flow analytics, alternative data, and proprietary risk models to evaluate borrower creditworthiness. The technology is designed to improve credit decisions, provide more detailed risk segmentation, and help lenders responsibly extend credit to a broader range of consumers.

Oliv’s underwriting framework also incorporates real-time cash-flow analytics, payroll information, and income verification. Together, these data sources are intended to provide a more comprehensive assessment of borrowers than approaches relying primarily on conventional credit histories.

Loans purchased through the new capital partnership will be monitored using Edge Focus’s Lens platform, which provides portfolio analytics, investor reporting, and transparency capabilities.

The integration of Origin and Lens connects underwriting decisions with ongoing portfolio monitoring, allowing institutional investors to evaluate loan performance and risk throughout the investment lifecycle.

For Oliv, the arrangement provides a scalable funding framework as it expands its consumer lending operations nationally. The company facilitates the origination of unsecured installment loans through its bank partners, subject to credit approval and applicable eligibility requirements. Oliv itself is not a bank.

The agreement also supports Edge Focus’s broader strategy of connecting technology-enabled consumer lending platforms with institutional capital. Through its underwriting and portfolio management software, Edge Focus works to create investment opportunities in consumer credit assets for institutional investors, including private credit funds.

By pairing underwriting technology with committed institutional purchasing capacity, Oliv aims to increase its ability to serve consumers while establishing the capital infrastructure needed to support its next phase of growth.
