OlsAro Raises €5 Million Seed Led By Industrifonden To Scale Climate-Resilient Seed Genetics Platform

OlsAro has raised €5 million in seed funding to accelerate commercialization of SeedAX, its seed genetics platform designed to develop climate-resilient cereal varieties.

The round was led by Industrifonden, with Nordic Foodtech VC joining as co-lead. Future Food Fund, PINC, AgFunder, and GU Ventures also participated in the financing.

OlsAro plans to use the new capital to expand partnerships with seed companies, scale international field trials, and strengthen its research and development capabilities.

The company is also investing in AI-driven trait discovery as it builds out SeedAX into a broader platform for developing crops that can perform under increasingly challenging environmental conditions.

OlsAro’s existing work has focused on traits related to salinity and heat tolerance. The company is now broadening its development pipeline to include drought tolerance and nitrogen-use efficiency, potentially giving growers access to crops better suited for changing climates and more resource-constrained agricultural environments.

The financing will also support OlsAro’s transition from validating individual products toward creating a scalable genetics platform that can support breeding programs across multiple traits and geographic markets.

By combining seed genetics, field validation, research, and AI-driven discovery, OlsAro is seeking to help seed companies develop new cereal varieties capable of maintaining productivity as climate conditions become more variable.
