Global law firm O’Melveny & Myers announced that seasoned finance lawyer John Curran has joined its Singapore office as a partner in the Corporate Finance Practice. The hire reinforces the firm’s cross-border capabilities and expands its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
Curran brings considerable experience advising private-equity sponsors, strategic investors, corporations, arrangers and credit funds on complex financing transactions across the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on cross-border acquisition and leveraged financings in Southeast Asia and India. He also advises on special-situations investments involving stressed or distressed companies.
Before joining O’Melveny, Curran was a partner in the Debt Finance Practice at Kirkland & Ellis in Hong Kong and earlier worked in the London and Singapore offices of Allen & Overy (now A&O Shearman).
His arrival follows two other corporate partner hires in O’Melveny’s Singapore office—Stephanie Keen and Sylvia Taslim joined in October 2024—and comes as the firm continues to expand operations in Singapore, an increasingly important international business hub.
