O’Melveny announced that experienced mergers and acquisitions attorney Jeffrey C. Wolf has rejoined the firm’s San Francisco office as a partner in its Mergers & Acquisitions Practice and Private Equity Industry Group. The move strengthens the firm’s corporate capabilities on the West Coast and expands its national bench of transactional advisers.
Wolf brings more than two decades of experience advising private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and strategic buyers and sellers on public and private M&A transactions. His practice includes domestic and cross-border stock and asset acquisitions and divestitures, tender and exchange offers, minority investments, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions. He also counsels portfolio companies on corporate governance matters. His industry experience spans sectors including technology and software.
Wolf returns to O’Melveny after serving as a partner in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity Practices at Paul Hastings. He originally began his legal career as a corporate associate in O’Melveny’s San Francisco office. His return continues the firm’s strategic growth efforts. Since 2023, O’Melveny has added 51 lateral partners, including 32 corporate partners across offices in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Century City, Newport Beach, New York, Dallas, Houston, Singapore, and London.
O’Melveny Chair Bradley J. Butwin said Wolf’s deep private equity and technology transaction experience will provide immediate value to clients across Northern California and beyond.
Wolf said the move represents a return to the firm where he launched his legal career, citing O’Melveny’s client service focus and collaborative culture as key factors in his decision to rejoin the firm.
Wolf earned his J.D. cum laude from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, formerly UC Hastings, and received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
