OMERS Private Equity has announced the appointment of Adam Buzanis as Managing Director, Head of Funds, as the firm continues to expand its external funds program. Buzanis brings deep experience across global private markets, including primary funds, co-investments, and secondaries, positioning him to build out this growing area of the platform.
Buzanis will lead the continued development of OMERS Private Equity’s external Private Equity funds strategy. His mandate includes deepening relationships with high-quality managers and expanding co-investment opportunities across the firm’s portfolio, work that is expected to widen the range of managers and deal flow available to OMERS Private Equity. The appointment reflects the next stage in the evolution of OMERS Private Equity, building on the firm’s existing direct investing platform rather than replacing it.
Alongside its direct investing capabilities, the funds program broadens how OMERS Private Equity accesses private markets. Rather than relying solely on direct deals sourced and executed in-house, the firm is deepening its ability to participate in opportunities through third-party managers, both as a fund investor and as a co-investment partner alongside those managers. The firm said the program strengthens global relationships and creates greater flexibility in how it deploys capital over time, allowing it to adapt its approach across different markets, sectors, and stages of the investment cycle.
The addition of a dedicated Head of Funds signals the growing importance of this strategy within OMERS Private Equity’s broader platform.
