Omio Receives $10 Million Investment From Granite-Integral To Fuel Japan And Southeast Asia Expansion

Omio, a multimodal travel booking platform, announced a $10 million strategic investment from Granite-Integral to accelerate its expansion in Japan and strengthen its presence across Southeast Asia. The investment comes as the Asia-Pacific region is expected to be the fastest growing travel market globally over the next five years, with nearly half of travelers planning journeys that combine multiple modes of transport.

Granite-Integral, a joint venture between Granite Asia and Integral Corporation managing $100 million in committed capital, will help Omio deepen its transport network across Japan and Southeast Asia, strengthen local partnerships, refine its customer offering, and grow its regional teams in Japan and at its AI-focused technology hub in Singapore. The investment builds on a period of strong momentum for Omio in Japan following its launch earlier this year, with the company already reporting demand from international travelers booking journeys along the popular Golden Route as well as more remote destinations, including mountain regions, sacred routes, and coastal communities. Omio continues to expand its Japanese transport network through partnerships with operators including Japan Railways and Willer Express.

Omio offers bookable transport options across 48 countries and serves more than one billion users annually, with the company stating that one person books travel through its platform every second. The investment marks a step toward Omio’s stated goal of expanding into more than 70 markets worldwide by 2028, with Japan and Southeast Asia identified as key priorities within that international growth strategy. Omio operates two interconnected platforms, Omio and Rome2Rio, and maintains offices in Berlin, Singapore, Prague, Melbourne, and Bangalore.
